Amader Shopnoloke's Celebration Show in Ottawa

Parking: FREE on campus
The show will begin exactly at 5 pm, and we will be showing most of the episodes though not too many between 1-7 since those would have been aired by the 12th. Viewers will enjoy the Natok as a whole therefore we will be showing the ending as well.
Refreshments will be available during intermission and everyone is welcome.
The entrance to Carleton University is off of Bronson and Sunnyside. Follow the folowing link for a map of the campus, Bell Theatre is inside Minter Centre.

Episode One
In episode one we are introduced to the four roomates. We see that the original roomates are Asif, Utpol and Manik and they are discussing the arrival of Sumit from Bangladesh.
We meet Farah, Labonno and Cynthia who are all starting first year university and are good friends.
We also meet Enayet and his wife Tanusha. Enayet is seen counting money, his favorite possession, while his wife cuts vegetables for dinner.
We also meet Sylvia, Utpol's overbearing sister, who is a hindi movie and bangla natok addict as she chastises Utpol for not coming sooner in order to return her viewed hindi movies and getting her new ones.
Comments from the viewing public is encouraged.

Ricky is played by Sifaet Hossain
Ricky is Cynthia's brother and Julia's son. He was born and brought up in Canada and he often has conflicts with his sister as many siblings do. He is in high school and has acquired some questionable friends who influence him in the wrong direction.

Julia
Julia is played by Surma Rahman
Julia is a single mother to Cynthia and Ricky and is a Realtor. She is usually so busy with her work that she finds little time to spend with her children let alone cook. She is Christian and attempts to attend church every Sunday. Her relationship with her children is good though a little strained at times.
Nupur
Tanusha
Tanusha is played by Tonni Farjana
Tanusha lived with her parents in Bangladesh until her marriage to Enayet after which she moved to Canada. Tanusha had a difficult time adjusting to Canada away from all her family and friends. This situation was not helped by the fact that her husband neglected her most of the time and was not understanding. Tanusha slowly comes into her own and changes from a scared newcomer to a confident individual.
Enayet
Enayet is played by Khokon Abbas
Enayet is a recently married man who has a fascination for money and a disregard for his wife's feelings. A complicated man, he can be both cold and benevolent but his short temper makes him a hard man to live with. The age difference between him and his wife makes him prone to jealousy and his odd sense of humour is not appreciated by his wife, Tanusha.
Asif
Manik
Manik is played by Harun Thakur
Manik is Hindu and the oldest of the roommates. He has been living in Canada for quite a few years and drives a taxi to make a living. Hlaims to be saving up to finish his studies but his roommates have doubts if he will ever finish. He is interested in his neighbour Nupur and makes every attempt to impress her in order win her affection.
Cynthia
Cynthia is played by Anika Ahmed
Cynthia lives in Ottawa, Canada with her mother and a younger brother. Her parents divorced when she was young and she was born and brought up in Canada. She counts Farah and Labonno among her closest friends and relies on them whenever the situation at home becomes stressful. She is in first year university and in a relationship with Utpol.
Utpal Rozario
Utpol Rozario is played by Faisal Arif
Utpol Rozario is one of the four roommates and he is renounced for telling outrageous fibs as well as coming up with ingenious ways to get out of his cooking days. Utpol has an overbearing older sister residing in Ottawa who often drops by his house unannounced. Utpol works at the dollar store as he pursues his studies in University and is in a relationship with Cynthia.
Labonno
Labonno is played by Rizwana Alamgir
Labonno lives with her older sister in Ottawa, Canada as she pursues University studies while her parents reside in Bangladesh. Labonno has a strong wish to return to Bangladesh after her studies but she has also developed strong friendships here in Canada with Farah and Cynthia.
Farah
Farah is played by Priyoti Reza
Farah was born and brought up in Ottawa, Canada and lives with her parents and has an older brother studying in another city. Farah's closest friends are Cynthia and Labonno with whom she starts first year of university. She meets new people in university and slowly becomes more culturally aware of her own heritage as she meets people who just arrived from Bangladesh.
Sumit Shamsuzzoha
Sumit Shamsuzzoha is played by Razib Iqbal
Sumit is the oldest with a younger sister named Milia. He moves to Ottawa, Canada in order to pursue further studies and moves into a house with three roomates. The roomates have varied backgrounds and personalities and they help Sumit adjust to life in Canada, which is dramatically different from Bangladesh.
